Osun is expanding tax net to boost IGR- OIRS Board Secretary

 The Board Secretary, Osun Internal Revenue Service, Mrs Abimbola Dunsin has said the state plans to expand the tax net by bringing new taxpayers into the system and not overburden the current taxpayers.


She said this was important to drive the internally generated revenue that would help boost infrastructure, improve agricultural produce, provide adequate security, among others which are the focus of the present government.


The BS, in a meeting with all Market Women(Iyalojas) across the three senatorial district in Osun State said, these can only be achieved with the continued support and unwavering solidarity from the executives of the market men and women.


While speaking on ease of doing business, Mrs Dunsin affirmed that  Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has been paying deliberate attention to measures in ensuring ease of doing business which all market women and men that falls under the informal sector  in the state can enjoy.


She further explained that informal business sector is a critical area that Osun can use to fund its budget if properly harnessed. She  therefore sought the support of Iyalojas to help expand the tax net to their members who are yet to be captured.


Reacting to the development, the state Iyaloja-General, Mrs Mary Oyebode thanked the Governor of the state for his fatherly role, care and love for the people.


Present at the meeting were the Director Informal Sector, Mrs Mobolaji Fawunmi, Assistant Director Informal Sector, OIRS, Mrs Bilikis Lawal among others.
